Qartaj was founded in Tunis in 2019 by a small group of security engineers and developers who were tired of choosing between "fast" and "secure." We're a small team working on security monitoring and product engineering out of the same office.
We work with a growing group of clients across banking, telecom, and other sectors in Tunisia — securing infrastructure, testing applications, and building the software they run their business on.
Interns sit next to the people shipping code and watching the alerts, not next to a slideshow about them. Every track ends with a real deliverable: a hardened service, a triaged incident log, a shipped feature.
How we got here
A short history.
Growing our monitoring desk
Our monitoring work now covers clients across banking and telecom, with a rebuilt detection pipeline aimed at cutting triage time and noise.
Product team opens alongside the SOC
We started building and operating the software our clients run their business on, not just defending it — a small full-stack team working alongside the analysts.
First internship cohort
A small first cohort, one track. Some of them are still on the team today.
Qartaj founded in Les Berges du Lac
Four founders, one client, and a conviction that security and shipping speed shouldn't be a trade-off.
What we value
How we work, in four rules.
Ship the fix, not the slide deck
Every audit and every internship ends in something deployed, not a report nobody reads.
Whoever's on call, decides
Analysts who triage incidents also write the detection rules — no hand-off between watching and fixing.
Say the boring part out loud
Migrations, releases, and incident reports are written so the least senior person on the desk can act on them.
Hire from the bench
Strong interns are considered for the team first. We'd rather grow into a role than post another job listing.
Leadership
The desk leads you'd work alongside.
Yassine Ben Salah
Co-founder & CEOFormer incident responder for a regional telecom; started Qartaj to make that skill set a career path in Tunis.
Mariem Kallel
Head of SOCRuns the monitoring desk and the detection-engineering backlog; the person interns triage alerts alongside.
Amine Haddad
Head of EngineeringLeads the product studio's web and mobile squads, and reviews every intern's first shipped feature personally.
